Grissin Bon, a family owned manufacturer of baked goods, specialized in the production of breadsticks, rusks and crackers has chosen Brantford, Ontario, Canada to locate their first North American food production facility. The Brantford operation will supply Ferrero Canada with breadsticks for their Nutella & Go product.  Grissin Bon also plans to seek other sales channels and clients in North America and to expand production, both branded and private label.

The company has purchased a 3.85 acre lot at 43 Roy Blvd. and has retained Vicano to construct a 35,045 square foot baking facility. The company plans to be operational for May – June 2015, initially employing 15. As operations develop, future expansion is anticipated to meet forecasted growth resulting in the facility expanding to approximately 90,000+ square feet and employing 45. Total capital investment for Phase 1 is $7.5 million.

Established in 1969, Grissin Bon is Italy’s largest and oldest manufacturer of breadsticks with four manufacturing facilities employing over 200 with exports mostly to Europe, and a small percentage destined for world markets including North American.
