Vicano welcome’s Hershey Canada into their new Distribution Centre!

The Hershey Company selected Vicano to be its Design-Builder in the Fall of 2020 for its new 520,000 square foot Canadian Distribution Centre, located on the site of a former gravel pit in an undeveloped area of the City of Brantford.

The project features a refrigerated 500,000 sq.ft., 45’ high warehouse with eighty (80) truck docks to support Hershey Canada’s capacity in distribution of its confectionary products.

Included in the project was a separate 2-storey, 20,000 sq.ft. office building for Hershey Canada logistics and supply chain personnel and a 7,500 sq.ft. internal 2-storey office space to support Co-Packing operations.

The secured site features 195 trailer parking stalls and 350,000 sq.ft. of future building expansion area.

The entire 53 acre site was completely developed including all servicing, retaining walls, and surface works accessed through a 4-lane full time operated security building.

The Hershey Co. entrusted Vicano’s one-stop-shop team to lead all required site studies, site planning, civil and building design under a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Construction delivery method to complete the project in just 15 months from all permitting approvals to chocolate in the warehouse, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
